Exemplary Love

Today, I want to take a moment and honor your life, my beautiful loving mother-in-love Mrs. Cecilia Emily Daisie.

The first day we met, you saw a young woman [but little on the inside] carrying much confidence yet many traumas. You were gentle with your affection towards me and respected me. You accepted me into your family and allowed your son and I to build our own family. Some women tell of unloving mother-in-law stories, I do not have one to tell, thank God for your heart. You exemplified love when you loved and accepted your son, a gift he treasures so much!

Aunty Ceci, I sat at your bedside that Saturday before your final goodnight and as I worshipped and prayed to you, the Lord said “It is not time”. You shed a tear when you opened your eyes and saw us lovingly looking at you. Oh, my heart was filled with so much assurance as I observed your children near and far, your husband and well wishers speak life into you all throughout the weekend. Then that fateful Tuesday night came, 10:40pm and the Lord spoke as I prayed. I sat on my bed and wept because He whispered gently “It is time”. My response was “Lord, if it is time then receive her”. With the song “Yeshua” playing, Aunty Ceci, I saw the Lord embrace you. I solemnly shared with your son that your time would be on his birthday and indeed, our good Lord called you home that early hour of his birthday. We do not and will not question God’s timing; rather, we rejoice because you are safe, secured and resting well until we meet again.

Thank you for EVERYTHING; from nurturing Ebow well to be the good husband and father he is today, for getting baby Kennedy all together during her newborn days so I could rest, for stepping in with baby Kemuel’s care so Ebow and I could finally take a much needed vacation… just naming a few of your selflessness. You fought the good fight, finished the race well and now your Creator gets to embrace you and give you the best flowers. Thank you for respecting, accepting, and loving me.

I love you. Rest in Perfect Peace ❤️

Kate A. Coker-Daisie
