Maa, as I affectionately call you, seeing mortality take you away from us has broken my heart.
It saddens me that you depart from us but gladdens my soul that you mothered me when destiny brought us together.
You were a no nonsense woman, a woman of your words and very jovial too. You provided for me without me asking. You put your foot down, to teach me right from wrong, to make sure I did my best. You always let me know I had a mama in you who cared about me, who believed in me, who was there for me no matter what.
I am who I am today because you never gave up on me. You impacted my whole life greatly, especially when you enrolled me into fashion designing. I am a better cook because of you. Thank you, Maa.
Words fail me but my heart is consoled knowing that today, you rest in the bosom of our Lord.
Ebo, Dela, Aba, Angela and I, take this sorrowful moment to say a huge thank you for loving us the way you did.
You will forever be in our hearts.
Rest peacefully, Maa.
