“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” Revelation 14:13
I write this tribute to you, mum, to honour you for giving me life, hope and a future.
I met you when I was on the verge of dropping out of Senior Secondary School, without a helper and a hope. Without hesitation, you took me as your son, showed me such an uncommon love, helped pay all my fees, and gave me hope of a bright future.
As a loving mum and a special gift from God to all of us your children, you always stood by me, and kept putting smile on my face throughout my undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Regardless of wherever I was, in good times and in challenging moments, I always felt the comfort of your constant prayers for us.
You indeed had a heart of gold. Your constant encouragement to me to always look beyond my current circumstance was the fuel that keeps inspiring me to dream big. My life today is a testimony of your selflessness and unique love for God and for people.
This world without you is empty of love, and it’s so unbearable to accept the fact that you’re now no longer with us. We however comfort ourselves with the belief that you are in a better place and in the fullness of time, we shall see you again. Rest well mummy, till we meet again.
